"Hypergraphia", to star two-time Oscar nominee JOHN HURT
as Arthur Crew Inman (1895-1963), author of the 17 million word
"Inman Diary", published by Harvard University Press.
A Boston eccentric and self-appointed chronicler of the mid-2oth century,
Arthur Inman was the original blogger, a man obsessed with connectivity
a half-century before the word was invented.
Inman chronicled his eventful life with astounding dedication starting at the age of 8.
Over a remarkable 60 year period he brought vividly to life his youth in turn-of-the-century Atlanta,
his chaotic but ultimately loving 40 year marriage to Evelyn Yates Inman,
the often odd goings on in apartment #604 of Boston's Garrison Hall,
as well as his many physical and emotional ailments, real and imagined.
Unlike most diarists, Inman also immortalized the otherwise neglected stories and experiences of his fellow citizens,
over 1000 of them, locating them through decades of personal ads in the Boston newspapers.
Hypergraphia is the astonishing account of a man like no other,
living in fast-changing times, who made it his job to write it all down.
